Drew is trying to catch up with Milk!
(Preview)
Number 2 doe for Drew. Steep downward shot about 10 yards from his tree. Muzzy/Eichler head went in the rib cage and exited between her front legs. Lots of damage but very little blood as the exit wound was blocked with jellied lung material and who knows what else. We bumped her out of her bed and then bac...

It's Alive!
(Preview)
Boys, there is an old Blues song--can't remember the name--anyway it has a line "you don't miss your water until your well goes dry" Well, I have been stuck here as isolated and frustrated as an Amish teenager....until today. I rigged up a step stool on a string, made it up into the truck and w...

Drew is on the board!
(Preview)
Drew scored this evening. Big doe, about 20 yards. Steep quartering angle. Liver shot her, easy tracking. Magnus 2 blade, old Easton shafts, Jeffrey 52# recurve. Very proud and happy for the kid. Sometimes I forget he's only 15. Definitely a lifer when it comes to traditional bows!

urban deer
(Preview)
I've been watching a doe bedded in my backyard for the last hour or so. In the busiest part of New Albany. That makes the fourth deer I've seen today. The other three were in a more rural setting. I don't know if I should feel sorry for these city deer or not. I think their pretty safe. I've only seen two dea...

Does this make any scents?
(Preview)
A buddy of mine..umm.. we'll call him Earl...actually Earl Jr. I know his old man. Anyway he told me a story that I will share and see if it makes sense to anyone, or in this case scents. Earl is a very good hunter who has killed a lot of big deer over the years even though he shoots one of them contraptions. He...
