Does this make any scents?

A buddy of mine..umm.. we'll call him Earl...actually Earl Jr. I know his old man. Anyway he told me a story that I will share and see if it makes sense to anyone, or in this case scents.

Earl is a very good hunter who has killed a lot of big deer over the years even though he shoots one of them contraptions.evileye

He really believes in scent control. He has scent free rubber boots, uses deer hunter soap and deodorant. Wears a scent barrier suit, and stores all his clothes in a tub with those wafers. He even bought that expensive silver enzyme nano technology spray. He goes out of his way to stay contaminant free on his way to the woods.

If you see some of the deer he's got you would say that stuff must work good.

Last weekend he had been in his ladder stand for a couple hours and he hears footsteps coming down thru the woods from up in the field. They were coming down the trail he walked in on.

He turned around and looked back and eventually seen something brown. It had it's nose to the ground trackin him step for step.

IT WAS A DANG COON DOG.

It came right around to his ladder and put his front feet on the second rung and looked up at Earl and started waggin his tail.biggrinconfusebiggrin

Earl didn't want him to start barking so in a harsh whisper he said  Go on GIT. OL Duke went back up the hill the way he came.aww

Don't a deer got at least as good a sniffer as an old dog.

This is a good opportunity to give out a great hunting tip that I never seen in a magazine or one of them huntin shows that are all over cable TV.

A few years ago when I started getting older I noticed hair startin to grow out of my ears. I thought this was odd since I was loosin hair everywhere else.hmm

I cut and trimmed and chopped and burned and still this hair grew.no

Anyway a few years ago I got so busy planning and scouting and practicing for deer season I forgot to look in the mirror.

Opening morning I stepped out of the truck and said, humm... light south southwest wind 3-5 mph.

That day I noticed every slight wind change, up draft and thermal current that happened. It was like I had an amazing wind radar.

Next day I got all cleaned and curried up to take the wife somewhere and I noticed I was practically blind as to the wind.

That's when I realized what an awesome gift God had given us.

Stereotactical Omni Directional  Super Sensitive Wind Dectectors.

I was starting to evolve into a deer killing machine.biggrin
