I am making a spear for 3D (I figure there must be some "spear chucker " blood in my family) but I don't want to mess up the $ targets. Should I "foot" the thing with a detachable target shaft, or just stump shoot while you guys work the targets? Been thinking of tapering it down enoug...

Well I went to Lowe's and picked up a 5/16th x 48" solid fiberglass shaft, and a 1" Poplar dowell. Ran the tip of the shaft through my sanding jig to put a point taper on it, and fletched it with some junk uncut yellow feathers I had. The shaft was bright red to begin with. this is what i've started with the shafts i bought last sat. from neal. i know some of you will say there going to be hard to find but i think the only target they might blend in with would be the turkey targets. and there made of WOOD!!! that way when you guys beat me i can say its becouse you had better arrows...
