John Nail, How about a report on the Hill?

I glanced around at the last shoot and didn't see you.  I saw a 3 piece Pronghorn on a table with a bunch of bows for sale and thought you might have a new goto hunting bow.  I was told it wasn't for sale and someone had just left their bow there.  People shouldn't tease me like that.  It was osage and boo.

So, what do you think of the new bow?

OK, we quit early today, so I had some time to kill. I shot the Hill bow through the chronograph for giggles. I used a 472 grain 1916 as a control arrow, and then arrows all the way up to 550 grain.

The HH is 68 inches and 48@28

Let me state right off that this is a string-follow bow. I had Craig make it that way. I expected it to be s-l-o-w.

It isn't, at least not by my standards.

It shot an AVERAGE of 162fps with the 1916 and about 158fps with the 550 grainers.

My Pronghorn(s) shoot an average of 175 with their respective 10/gr/lb arrows.

I chrono using the same release that I do when hunting-by that I mean I hesitate at full draw before dropping the string.

I was pleasantly surprised. The locator grip is excellent. If I ever get another HH, it will have one.

It's too soon to make any statements about the string follow design. I can't say for sure that it enhances accuracy, but I Can tell that it reduces hand shock.
