So...I'm setting here by the morning fire...coffee in hand and smelling the smoke of the fire. Birds are chirping, squirrels running around the camper tempting fate. I string up my bow, a DAS 21" riser with extra long longbow limbs that are pulling about 34lbs at 29.5"
Yeah I know, why the light weight? 2 weeks ago I broke my left wrist and am just now able to to pick up a bow and fling some 800 spine predators at some critter shaped foam and man they are flying good!. It still hurts a bit but it's better than throwing rocks! The kids love staying in the pop up (thank you milk!), I cant pull them away from camping...even if it's in the back yard! Go figure the weather is perfect this weekend! No rain, mud or snow to contend with...just social isolation and distancing. The boys are having fun, shooting their bows, playing man hunt with their ghillie suits, hot dogs on the campfire and roasting marshmallows at night...and then drifting off to sleep in the camper.
Although I know we would love to be at tradfest with all of our friends and archery family this will have to do for now. After all of this craziness is over I know we are all looking forward to making up for lost time...
From Harvey. Oliver, and myself...we miss you all.
