Did some trading with a friend in Wisconsin for a "B" mag riser and limbs...
I knew it was going to need some love and had been drilled so the decision to work on it was easy. Stripped the riser, Plugged and Fixed the holes, worked out some imperfections and she was ready for paint!
I always liked the camo pattern on the older bear compounds from late 70's and early 80's so that's what I went for...made the stencil, got the wood stove going in the shop and when it was warm enough to spray paint I went to it. I was very pleased with the outcome and went ahead and laid down a few coats of clear satin to protect it from the brush I'd be dragging it through. with a new strike plate and rubber rug...and new screws... the old girl came back to life! I will be looking for some new latches at some point but until then...it'll work.
The limbs are in good shape, Grayling red tips #1's 45lbs on an "A" which on this riser made it 60" and 43lbs...i have a sweet set of #3's that are 45lbs that will make it 64" and for me that's the ticket.
