Food for thought...

Recently read in another forum: the latest fad on trad. shoots is "known target distances". What is equal is not an advantage...

They say it shortens shooting time because there is no guessing and no ranging: you step to the podium knowing that your target is 20 yards from the stake and fire away.

A penny for your thoughts. smile biggrin confuse no

I'm probably towards the botom when it comes to 3D shooters in our club, so for me, I shoot foam to better myself for hunting season. I don't have known distances on my live targets, so I like not knowing distances on the 3D course. Makes me a better hunter.

My sentiments exactly Woody. I'm a bowhunter  just as in the name of our club. None of the 2 deer, 17 squirrels, and 1 rabbit that I was blessed with last year were at any set yardage. I'll never be in the Best of the Best score wise and really don't care....at the end of the day, I come for the comradery and to have fun. If by chance I beat Vern, then it's a bonus!

I would shoot worse if I knew the distance.......there is a flaw in human nature that causes us to always take the easiest way

Those in favor of the proposal claim that it will help your hunting by giving you a target in a hunting environment with a known yardage > you learn what a deer/elk/pig, etc looks like at any given yardage.
