I'm gonna be having a wood bow makin' get together at my place come May 27th. Thats the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. Wanted to do it sooner than that but turkey season takes up a lotta spring weekends!
Anyway it'll be from 8am to 5 or so. Its gonna be a bring your own grub, staves and shaving bench type of arrangement. I'll provide the yard space and probably some coffee.
I'm located about an hour south of Indy , a few miles north east of Bean Blossom just to give ya'll an idea on travel time .Everyone is invited. Lemme know if your interested.
I AM cutting bow wood this weekend so I can't make the shoot.
Getting some osage from Switzerland county. You're welcome at the bow fest though. Tell anybody else that might be interested in coming about it as well.
All you folks interested in wood/self bows, you're invited to my place in south central Indiana for an informal bow making get together. I'll provide yard space, a tree for shade, and hopefully all the coffee you can drink. Oh yeah, and a tillering tree with a scale. I may even let ya'll use my bathroom! Its bring your own grub, tools, staves and shaving horse. I should have a cable spool table set up with a coupla vices mounted on it for those that need 'em. Prolly make shavin's from 8 to 5 or so. I live a coupla miles east of Bean Blossom which puts me about an hour south of Indy and 10 minutes north of Nashville.
Alright the mapquest thing was ten feet long so I'll walk ya'll in. You can Mapquest from your place to; 6913 Spearsville Rd, Morgantown In 46160 From Indy: come south on 135, go through Trafalgar and Morgantown almost to BeanBlossom. Turn left at the "BOW " sign (Spearsville rd.), then follow signs to 6913 about 2 miles. Its a gray house with white and green posts on the front porch.
From the south ; You basically gotta get to Nashville then go north on 135 to Bean Blossom (about ten or 12 minutes), look for the "bow " sign and turn right on Spearsvile rd. 2 miles to 6913 . I'll e-mail anybody thats gonna be coming my cell # so if you get turned around and can't find us I can give you the old " turn left at the corn field , right at the big oak tree" treatment. ( I live close to a paved county road so small kids probably wouldn't be a good idea.) Lemme know who's interested by e'mail or post here. Chris
Ok guys theres been some interest in a trade/swap/sell blanket at the bowfest so its a go.
Bring anything archery related you want to trade to the shindig and we'll set it out for public appraisal.
Anybody else interested in coming? We've got guys with no tools and no selfbow experience coming so don't think you'll be the only one there with limited knowledge on wooden bows.
