this sounds silly but I had a fella tell me that I put my wedge in backwards . I always put mine in from the left so its smooth on my hand so is ther a backwards?
Oh Johnny, Johnny you have always been backwoods but I've never known you to be backwards. We'll see what Tim says but I think that feller oughta be doin things Strang Style.
not dead lake is fine just living the dream hunting fishing every day go to bed when I want get up when I want wishing some of those so called home grown tarorest stop by to say good by
There is no wrong way. Since I build mostly flint longrifles I don't do a lot of wedges but have done several. For a right hand shooter I go from left to right and vice versa for left hand shooters. The reason, I like to have the key protrude a bit so I can tap it with something to jar it loose. If it's cut flush you have to use a punch or screwdriver to drive it out. Most shooters would grip the forearm right about where the key is and you don't want that thing digging into your hand. You were right the first time.
