TAS world shoot

congratulations to Bob Enlow for his second place in selfbow class

The TAS - Traditional World Championship was a lot of fun for everyone! I want to thank all the archers, vendors, and winners of each class that came out to support the event. Our participation in events like these helps promote our sport of traditional archery and bowhunting.

On Friday, television news station WCBI of MS came out to the event. I did an interview on camera, and archers were video taped shooting on the range.

We had TAS members from TX, LA, IN, AK, AL, GA, TN, NY, FL, NC, and MS that attended the event.

Everyone enjoyed shooting the 2 World Championship courses that were setup in a natural hunting situation where every animal had a shot for right and left handed shooters. The number 1 suggestion was to allow archers to compete with multiple bows. I'm excited to announce that rule change was made, and will be in effect for 2016.

The Team Shoot World Championship, was a challenge because of the weather. We had a down pour of rain but was able to finish the shoot off between the rain.

Everyone that shot the Fred Anderson Stump Shoot World Championship loved the realistically molded stump targets that were purchased for the event.

The Broadhead World Championship had a unique scoring system similar to the Fred Bear scoring system. It was scored 10, 5, -5, and 0 for a miss. There were 12 targets, and the highest score was 70.

I want to thank TAS member Clyde Norris for all of his help with setting up the range and with signs. On Thursday, Clyde and I worked together from about 10am to sunset making the event possible.

I also want to thank Mr. John Schulz for coming from Montana to talk with our members of TAS, and giving the Straight Shooting and Bowhunting Class. I will never forget the time that I spent with Mr. Schulz.

Best regards,
Darren Nunez
