Why is that John? I didn't think one had to start wearing orange till small game started... rabbit, quail, etc. which is next Saturday, Nov. 8th.

And then for the firearms season... and all of that...

Squirrels (312 IAC 9-3-17):
A squirrel hunter is required to wear hunter
orange from Nov. 1 through the remainder
of the season. Nov. 1 matches the new
starting date for rabbit, pheasant and quail
seasons.

Sorry I haven't been on the forum for quite some time, but came across this thread.thread and thought I'd better clear up a misconception. In Indiana, a bowhunter only has to wear orange when there is a deer firearm season open. Small game season doesn't matter. Page 23 in the hunting/trapping guide.

Hope to make a few shoots this year, but my hand surgery didn't go as well as I would've liked. Shoot straight!!

Strang, yore probably right. If you come up and hunt this year you might consider some flo orange hair dye.

That long white beard of yourn swishing in the wind might get mistaken for a deer butt.biggrin
