KyTradFest 2014

This year to encourage more dishes at the saturday night potluck feast we will be having a "campfire cookoff" contest. Anyone can judge the dishes and vote for their favorite one. There will be 1st, 2nd,  and 3 rd place plaques, plus first place winner gets a $50 "Tradbucks", redeemable with any of our vendors. We decided this was better than just giving Bambi cash to spend on cheap cigars and rotgut whiskey.  This also helps out the vendors a little with more sales. We can all use $50 worth of more supplies right ? This should be fun, my crystal ball sees lots of wildgame dishes.....

Boy, I sez BOY, now you is talkin my language.

I can campfire cook like no other.

Roasted Milkweed pods stuffed with potted meat and smothered in Velveta.

Tadpole soup with cattail root and wild parsnip.

Grilled ringtail wraped in applewood bacon.

And remember there's only one bird you can't eat. Buzzard. Not cause they taste bad, they fly too high and no bow I know  of can bring one down.

Lucklie for the other cooks I'm gonna disqualify meself.

I don't smoke stinkin cigars and $50.00 wont buy a bottle of Burbon I drink. Butt......

I do want to volunteer to be a judge. Their aint much I wont try and I loves me some food.

I'm sure bribery is alive and well in KY and I won't hold that against anyone.wink

I'll tell you one thing though, that dang Skunk is perhaps the finest chef I ever met.

Good luck to all the campfire cooks and remember one of my favorite ingrediants is Spam.biggrin

We got plenty of room to camp, I suggest anyone sensitive to night noises to try and camp away from the crowds. We plan on putting those running generators up close to the clubhouse, as its a level area better suited for big campers. there is ample space from the road down to the pond, and down to the woods (right side of lane) that is fine for camping,it is perfectly safe around the edge of the woods there as the smoker round course shoots the opposite direction. Some even camped back in the cubby hole at the pistol range, which is closed for the weekend. As far as barking dogs......, Im thinking mystery dish for the saturday night feast....
