Last nights meeting

We had the first officers meeting of the year last night.

We decided to meet at Budrows bus stop in Henryville for breakfast Between 7:00 and 7:30 Sat morning. All welcome.

A couple big trees are down over by the dam and will need to be cut. Anyone with a running chainsaw can bring it up.

We want to give away another kids compleat set up again this year. John and JR have been kind enough to donate new bows in the past. Anyone that wants to donate a good as new bow that pulls 40lb will be appreciated. We also will need arrows, quiver, arm guard and glove. This is a good thing and the effort is well worth it when they draw the name out of the hat.

This year there are more people back to work and we need help setting up and tearing down. Dave is going to be up there Friday morn about 9:00am to try to set the first side. I looked around that table last night and noticed that them boys are getting pretty long in the tooth. All help is welcome and it's not really work when your having that much fun.

I belive that the Scott co Conservation club will have a meeting up there on Jan. 10th and if any one wants to join they can at that time. Last year you had to be a Scott co. resident to be a voting member. I think non voting memberships were $20.00 for the year. We will try to get more info about that. Those fellows that are running the place are doing a fine job and could use the support.

The new Rules and Bylaws that we passed last year go into effect this year. Not much has changed as far as shooting goes, and the prices will stay the same. We will have a copy available for anyone to check out.

Anyone joining should remember to get your card when you sign up.

Food will be served as usual and anyone wishing to bring anything to pitch in is welcome.

Buying tradeing and selling is always allowed. And story telling is encouragedbiggrin

Hope to see ya'll Sat.biggrin

Den

I would like to offer up the donation of the youth bow for this year, if it has not been done so yet.

I will check, but most likely will be a Samick Phantom in 40 Lb. (Great bow for the $$)

Jim

Jim, I told Dennis yesterday I could donate a recurve I have but it's a 50 pounder. Your offer makes more sense for a kid's giveaway. I will defer to you if you want to donate one.

Is 40Lb a good weight or should we go a little lighter?
and that Phantom is a 62" bow maybe I should find something more like 58 ?

40 is about right. My grandson will be 11 next week or so and is starting to shoot the 40 pounder Harvey gave him.Of course it's not 40 at his draw length but he'll be able to shoot it for a long time.
