We will be located in Salem, IN. We are looking at the old Lucas Ag Center building, infront of Kimballs. Thank you for liking our facebook page! Please share with anyone you know that might be interested in shooting.
OK Awesome!! I will post details here you can also subscribe to our newsletter where we will be sending out details as well at www.sharpshooterarchery.com.
Thanks milkman! We will be offering annual memberships for 300 dollars. With an annual membership you will get unlimited shooting and discounts for things like leagues and tournaments. Is this something that anyone one in the ITBA would be interested in? Thanks again for your interest in Sharp Shooter Archery and please share us with your friends!
You really think $300.00 a year is too much? At $10.00 a day range fee you could go less than once a week and it would pay for it self! We are also planning on offering discount for league nights and tournaments plus discounts when you purchase something from pro shop. From what we have seen $300.00 is a great deal!
Hello S.S.A. I would guess $300 might be a good deal for someone that lives close and likes the indoors. ITBA members are scattered far and wide though. The last time we shot indoors was at Bass Pro and they charged $5.00 a night. We didn't shoot round spots though, we shot animal targets. Paper targets that is. Fox , phesant, bear, etc.
When we shot at Chicks it was $7.00 a night if I remember. That included a turn at the Tecno screen. At the end of the year they had a big feed for everyone so I'm not sure how much they made off us. They were mostly a retailer.
Almost all Trad shooters like to shoot every day, year round. Therefore most have some kind of set up in their yards. Trad takes a lot of dedication and practice. Not necessarily a lot of money. We's mostly poor except for JR and John
I would say if you make it fun and fairly reasonable people will show up. Usually when you get a couple or so ITBAers together a shoot breaks out
If I remember right at Bass Pro we had 38 different shooters from as far away as Indy and way down in KY. We always had a few from the Salem area.
Yeah I guess I did not realize how spread out you guy were. For some reason I figured you all were fairly close. We would love to have a traditional league night if we could get 25 to 40 shooters to come together once a week. We could have traditional spot and/or 3D. We would love to have a group of traditional members as well that would come shoot a few times a week just for fun. What brand of traditional bows does everyone shoot?
I live near livonia and shoot trad so i would like to shoot at your place. 10.00 bucks is a good price you have over head and things to pay for so i'm looking forward to it.
SSA, traditional guys by nature are tightwads. This is why you dont see cable TV shows about traditional archery because there would be no income generated by comercial advertisements, we just dont buy the gadgets, gizmos, doo thingies that clutter the run-of-the mill "hunting " shows. Traditional archers spend their money on custom made bows, and maybe a little gas money to a rendevouz or hunting trip. 40 shooters at a shoot is a big gathering, as some are driving 3-4 hours to get there, than instead of cutthroat competition its usely storytelling, eating, and very informall shooting. You see we are few, and far between, probably less than 5% of all archers. Good luck with you're shoots, but most likely the guys with wheels will be the bigger contributers.
Trad guys crave the outdoors. That's why we stump shoot, rove the woods instead of being cooped up inside, Have 3d rendezvous, or go to each others house to shoot and eat "Texas chilli". Nothing against indoor shoots (I've been to plenty in the past) but we just love being outside...plus we really are tight wads!
Taylor we have a RIGHT to our Opinion as well as you Do Pard so do not tell us what to do on our sight which wasnt set up for someone outside club to advertise on if you want to shoot the mans shoot then do so its just not for some of us i have nothing agaist compound bows just dont choose to use them anymore !! We will say whatever WE want on this SIGHT ITS OURS !!!

you guys might be tightwads but im not. i plan on shooting at ssa this winter and shoot at our club. just because a guy trys to start something different doesnt mean you guys have to run him in the ground. this is why no other indoor place has made it. i shoot just as much as the next guy and im always looking for new places to shoot, if you guys have never shot indoor spots with traditional equipment then you have no idea what im talking about. im always trying to better myself and i thought that was the name of the game, but the way it looks to me is a guy cant even talk about something to do with a compund bow and everybody goes nuts. ME PERSONALLY, i love shooting against guys with wheelie bow and sometimes beat em pretty good. SO, IF YOU DONT HAVE NOTHING NICE TO SAY TO THE GUY, DONT SAY IT.
i dought i join but ill be there to shoot it i love shooting spots it helps my shooting alot. Ya know everyone has there own way of doing things and thats ok but we need to premote traditional archery any way we can because it is a dieing sport. I love our club better than anything and would hate to see it go away we need to go out to new places and get people interested in traditional archery.
I'm on board with Milkman, I absolutely LOVE the outdoor shoots but I'd like to try the indoor too. I'm thinking my wife and daughter might enjoy the indoors more. I plan on supporting these guys if possible maybe something new to have fun with? Who knows, maybe we'll convert a couple of compounders into tight wads!
Chickasaw has a huge buliding in shepardsville indoor shoots every winter started in NOV outside accsess too not as expensive to join either yearound for both indoor and out door Both 3D targets to shoot at but this is not for me either seems lanes are to close together indoors cramps the shooters that cant bows so i dont go their either $10 is not Bad Price if shooting 3 D and lanes are not as close Kings Archery outfitter in Lou has a $100 yearly rate on indoor Range $5 dayly Fee - Chickasaw when you join can go indoor year round and shoot wth membership Wish S S A well its just not for me !!
