His first turkey in the Spring and this, his first deer yesterday.
It was all on him. He saw the deer off in the distance and asked if he could shoot. I advised to let it work closer, which it did. Finally I told him, "when you have the shot , take it" and went back into my seat to watch the process. Finally the shot. It ran over the hill , out of sight but we found a sparse blood trail and followed it for about an hour. Actually the deer only ran about 100 yds. Right shoulder and through the lungs. Proud Grandpa today. I shot what appears to be his twin button buck this morning about the same time of the AM. I need a shower and some Tylenol. Dragging two deer is not for old folks.Can't wait for him to grow enough to drag his and mine.
