Wahzup

Hey ! Is everyones computer brokenated. Been no activity on here for a while. Anybody haveing any luck hunting? I'm seeing some but no shots yet. Had one nice 8 pointer walk by my stand at about 17-18 yards and I was sitting down with my bow in a holder and no arrow on the string. By the time I got up got my bow and an arrow on the string he was too far away . I grunted him back in aways but still too far for a shot. Boy he was a nice one. What can I say I'm lazy. Hope you all are doing better than that.

Way to go Jim. Those young does definately do eat good.Starting to rutting activity down here too. Yesterday morning I watched a big 8 pointer chase a smaller buck away from a doe but could not get him to come closer. He was not going to leave that doe.

On public land just 5 miles outside New Albany, we aint seein much. Ron has been huntin a lot harder than me and he's only seen a couple there. My buddy Earl that hunts private land at the far end of that property has, the last 7 times he's hunted ain't seen any.

Their there but a lot of that land is verticle and the deer know where to hang out. Plus it's a good example of natural selection on public land. If a deer wallks around in daylight they don't pass on their genesno

It's still huntin thoughwink

It's all goodbiggrin

Thanks JR. I wont be too hard on him this time. Bill Humphrey is comeing down Wednesday,he's a young buck and plenty stout he will be a big help if we get one. You are right Den Den, as I remember it public land was tough to hunt.

Friday night at LBL I got in the stand at noon, by 3 pm I saw 1 coyote,5 bucks,3 does. 2 of the bucks were heavy racked 10 pointers, mature heavy bodied deer. One of those ol boys chased a doe full bore by me at 6 yards, and i held off dropping the string because the bigger 10 pointer locked up behind my tree at 15 yards. He stood and watched the buck chase the doe over the saddle of this oak ridge I was set up on, but I guess his "sixth sense" kicked in, and he held for a couple minutes, than ran his does back down the hill away from me forever. I just knew he would follow, but I guess he figured his 2 does were worth more than one you had to fight for. Talked about getting pumped! 10 minutes later a smaller 8 pointer strolled by at 15 yards and I promptly grazed him ,perfect left to right, just low.
Fun never the less !

Sounds like you had a good time Randy. On our Elk hunt, Steve and Bill Humphrey finally located the herd on wednesday morning. Bill and I set up ona trail and they took an alternate route. The next night we set up on the alternate route and they took the first trail to the feeding area. Man thery ran me ragged on those Mountains. But it was a great time with great friends. Steve and Bill are two very unselfish guys to hunt with. They sure tryed hard to get me on the Elk. Even though I did not get one it is a wonderful memory I will allways have. That place was georgous.

Same here Dale, Its more to me than just killing something. As long as I'm seeing game, scenery, and having some peace and solitude, I figure its a successfull hunt.
