While reading the rules, I found a couple that in my opinon should be reworded.
The first one has to do with the primitive class arrows. The rule states that wood arrows must be used when shooting primative class. I think that should be reworded to arrows made of natural materials. Otherwise technically cane and bamboo arrows are currently illegal to shoot for score.
2. The rule says no hand held release. I think there should be an exception for a thumb release as long as they are shooting the corresponding bow. What does everyone else think?
I belive cane and boo would be considered wood even though tecnically speaking they are a form of grass. Just like some shoot arrows are not trees, but shrubs.
Would plastic nocks and steel points be considered natural materials
Simple rules that are easy to follow while having fun are the best
As far as thumb rings I've never seen any at any shoot that I.ve been to. I do think that they would give a shooter an advantage over others in their class.
It's a fine line to walk in deciding on what is fair and what is not. One thing we probably don't want is to have too many different divisions and classes.
Light arrows/ heavies, screw on/glue on, short draw / long draw, three or split, anchor here/ anchor there, cant or straight, one eye open/ both eyes closed, etc....etc....etc
