As I am working thursday night, I will not get to the Game Farm before noon on friday, so the gate will be locked before then unless Jesse, or another member can let you in. Some have allready inquired about coming to camp. I encourage you guys to come camp, that to me is allways the best part of it. I plan to bring venison, and possibly breakfast foods. We will set the course over near the campground. (down by the creek in the shade.) Hopefully it wont be too hot. See you guys friday night or saturday morning.
SH, hopefully I will be there by 1 pm friday, i'll close the gate, but keep the lock, so come on in. We will be setting targets. Everyone is welcome to help !
Bring it just in case JR, but you should be able to plug in at the clubhouse. Just bring a good heavy duty extension cord, and an adapter if you're camper plug is a 30 amp. They have those at Wal-Mart. John, the story behind Tyler is, He came from Montanna, and started shooting with us when he was 15-16 years old. Good kid, allways buying and selling bows, and bringing pics of his kills. Several years ago he was killed in a motorcycle accident, his father and family were devestated as you can imagine. We decided to have a shoot in his honour to raise money for NASP to purchase archery equipment for a selected school every year, some years we completely outfitted a school, sometimes we split the money to purchase arrows for several schools, but all the money has allways went 100% to NASP. Last count we have collected in excess of $10,000 to NASP. Every year Mike Miller, and Kevin Brown have built a raffle bow for this event. People have donated bows, arrows, pictures, cutting boards, quivers, books, and just about anything archery related to help raise this money. We appreciate all donated items, every raffle ticket purchased, and any help in any form for this event. Just showing up is a contribution. Hope to see a bunch of yanks there as well. They have a lot more money.
Hers a build along Kevin Brown did on another website, showing the finnished bow he is donating this year. http://www.kentuckyhunting.net/forums/showthread.php?118379-Tyler-Shoot-Crusader-Longbow-build
But ya'll got all the fancy repeatin rifles, plenty of well fed horses, nice artillery, and them damn monitor thingy's that has the southern ports all bottled up..., takes money ta buy all them fancy frllies.
Randy, do you have to be present to win either of the bows? I can't make it down but I could possible send money to buy chances if that would help. How much are they?
Den, I wish I could answer that ! I sent Kevin word to post on here, so hopefully he will chime in soon. I'll see to it you get you're bow, 'course I may have to launch a few hundred arrows out of it prior to shipping.
Hello this is Kevin, there are not any tickets made up but usually let the club members decide on how to do it. Seems they did them for a buck a piece last year, just be sure and send a couple hundred dollars and we will make sure you get fixed up with the appropriate amount of tickets, (grin)
NIghthawk, the shoot is at Mercer County Fish and Game located just south of Harrodsburg Ky just off highway 68 on Whites lane. When you are headed south on 68 Whites lane is a few miles out of Harrodsburg on the left. Turn left on Whites lane and go about a quarter mile and turn right into the club grounds. The clubhouse is about a quarter mile on the left. Come on out.
We had a better turnout than I actually expected, about 50 registered to shoot. It seems everybody had a good time, and i understand camp life was..."intresting", i'm sorry i missed out on that, but was just too tuckered to be much fun. Even though attendance wasn't stellar, there was still alot of good raffle items, including, A Herwaybow won by none other than Tyler's dad, Scott Roberts, A Crooked Stick won by Eddie Alexander, a left hand Bear K-mag won by Kevin Bishop, lots of quivers, books, and misc, items. All these donated items brought in over $600 that some needy school(s) will recieve. thanks for donations, raffle ticket purchases, shoot fees, and to those that pitched in and helped. another good year comes to an end, now its time to hunt!
