At the United Nations in New York City this week, the world's nations began finalizing language for a legally binding global treaty that some believe will strip U.S. gun owners of their 2nd Amendment rights. Meeting through July 27, 193 members of the U.N., along with non-governmental organizations, the NRA, public-interest groups, and firearms and other arms-industry representatives, are convening at the Conference on the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT).
Well I doubt seriously if Sec/Gen Ban Ki-moon will be coming for them. I hope I live long enough for some President to get some stones and throw the UN off American soil. How much would that piece of land be worth ?

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States reversed policy on Wednesday and said it would back launching talks on a treaty to regulate arms sales as long as the talks operated by consensus, a stance critics said gave every nation a veto. The decision, announced in a statement released by the U.S. State Department, overturns the position of former President George W. Bush's administration, which had opposed such a treaty on the grounds that national controls were better.
On Wednesday Obama Took the First Major Step in a Plan to Ban All Firearms in the United States. The Obama administration intends to force gun control and a complete ban on all weapons for US citizens through the signing of international treaties with foreign nations. By signing international treaties on gun control, the Obama administration can use the US State Department to bypass the normal legislative process in Congress. Once the US Government signs these international treaties, all US citizens will be subject to those gun laws created by foreign governments. These are laws that have been developed and promoted by organizations such as the United Nations and individuals such as George Soros and Michael Bloomberg. The laws are designed and intended to lead to the complete ban and confiscation of all firearms.
The Obama administration is attempting to use tactics and methods of gun control that will inflict major damage to our 2nd Amendment before US citizens even understand what has happened. Obama can appear before the public and tell them that he does not intend to pursue any legislation (in the United States) that will lead to new gun control laws, while cloaked in secrecy, his Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton is committing the US to international treaties and foreign gun control laws. Does that mean Obama is telling the truth? What it means is that there will be no publicized gun control debates in the media or votes in Congress. We will wake up one morning and find that the United States has signed a treaty that prohibits firearm and ammunition manufacturers from selling to the public. We will wake up another morning and find that the US has signed a treaty that prohibits any transfer of firearm ownership. And then, we will wake up yet another morning and find that the US has signed a treaty that requires US citizens to deliver any firearm they own to the local government collection and destruction center or face imprisonment.
This is not a joke nor a false warning. As sure as government health care will be forced on us by the Obama administration through whatever means necessary, so will gun control.
Please forward this message to others who may be concerned about the direction in which our country is headed.

A profound quote. The forefathers included the second amendant to protect from our government, not thieves,murderers and rapist. Most folks dont realize that. It is a check on our government, that was its intended purpose.
this is why i never took a consealed class i knew they were trying to track who has a permet i have carred a gun since i was 13 years old no need for a permet already have one the 2nd amendment right
Randy, amen to that. I grew up under a dictatorship. I can tell you stories you'd never believe. Some may say that those things only happen in "Banana Republics". WELL, like Ronald R used to say, go ask a common/ regular german/Russian/Slavic guy how many banana trees have they ever grown... It can happen! As it is today, no country would dare to invade US. The Senate already voted and they voted it down, done with it! Later, alligator. I saw a list of the senators voting against the treaty, if there was a dem. in the group (34 in total) I did not see it. Remember November!
Join the Heritage Foundation or subscribe to it. They will keep you informed of all the ins and outs. Good people. Another good organization is the Hillsdale College. Google it and get on their site and subscribe to Imprimis. They also have a web class on the Constitution. It took place already, but you can get each one of the lessons, only a handfull, from their web site.
My bad! I thought the vote had taken place. What I read was that 58 senators had sent letters saying that they are opposed to the UN Treaty and will vote against it. If you have the time, do give your senator a call to reinforce his decision to vote against the treaty.
As if you did not know, Obama is pushing for the treaty even though he has said several times recently that he is not against the 2nd Amendment.

When ever they think they are ready to come and take our guns that is when the poop will hit the fan, I am 70 years old and I am ready. Hope they kiss their kids and wife goodbye before they come.

The Treaty went down the tube because they could not get any support/votes in the UN. They could not get it off the drawing board. I am sure they will try again in a few years.
The best thing to do is vote fellers. If big brother wants something of yours bad enough, they aint gonna knock on your door and ask for it.. I would fight for it too! But it's hard to hit a target that can fly 2000 mph and has missles on it's wings! Vote GOP...It's that simple!
Im a registered Republican, but a Liberterian at heart. I know the Republicans do a lot of dirty $hit too, including lining their pockets during served terms, but the senate and House voting histories prove, IT ALLWAYS A DAMN DEMOCRAT BEHIND ANY GUN CONTROL LEGISLATION ! So, yeah, vote GOP.
IIf "bro " o gets reelected there will most likely end up being the second civil war. I have read that if that happens the US will end up split into different countries. There will be east America ~ central Midwest america ~ Texas ~ Alaska and ~ western America. What does anyone else think?
