Longbow advice

those are OK, but for the same $$ you can get a better made bow used. Give us a ballpark dollar amount, and we'll help you look.  Don't overbow yourself.

I have the itch for a longbow. Never shot one, just want one! Finding myself finacially challenged I am mulling over an inexpensive import (Samick. Ragim, etc.) or making my own. Anyone here have any advice?

I was thinking in the $200 range for a 40 - 45# @ 28"

I agree with John. More for your money buying a used bow. Keep coming to shoots, they show up. Ten years ago building my first glass longbow cost me about $700 with the equipment I bought, building a form, a hot box and materials. Not so cheap doing that if you don't want to build several

Yeah, I need to be patient. Been workin' on that for almost 50 years and still not too good at it. I need to focus more on shooting what I have before adding any new gear into the mix. Given time I'll find exactly something I don't need but really want and away we'll go. Thanks for the advice!

good used recurves are easier to come by (cheap) than longbows. So many 60's era recurves out there at the poundage you mentioned.
