Randy, I found that tree tore up after an unsuccessful day hunting during the late season. These pictures are from my bathroom window and only about 40 yards from the house. I was never much on shootin something in the yard but I am beginning to rethink my hunting strategies.

Steve, if they hang around your yard, they are family. I have a doe that has her fawn 200 yards from the house every year. Wouldn't shoot her for the world.
My yard is also my 40 acre farm I hunt. If I didn't shoot yard deer i'd get kinda hungry ! I killed a button buck 2 years ago no more than 60 yards from my house. I sat in the tree and actually watched my wife smoking with the bathroom window open ! (tsk, tsk) I could hear grandkids fussing, it was almost to the point I needed to holler "Turn down that TV, I'm tryin' to hunt !"
John, I know what you mean. For the last several years I have had fawns born within 100 yards of the house. Two years ago I had a set of twins next to my drive close to the highway.
Last spring this little guy was born in the thicket behind him, thats behind the building to the left in the picture above. This picture was taken last Sunday.

Randy, I usually consider the does around my 40 acres "bait" unless it's late season, the herd is healthy and I haven't put something in the freezer yet.
