Greenbo Lake State Park Archery Hunt

Just thought I'd let you guys know about this since it is NE KY, and not too far away...

Anyone who gets "Kentucky Afield" magazine may have seen the ad in this falls issue about the Greenbo Lake State Park Hunt. It basically is a joint venture between KDFW and the Ky Parks to stimulate use of the park during the normally slow times of Nov-Dec. In a nutshell, its a package of 3 days hunting,3 nights lodging,3 breakfasts, and 3 dinners for $185 + tax per person (Double occupancy)
Now I don't know how good the hunting could be, but for $61 per day, room and board, it sounds cheap !
I have never visited Greenbo Park, but for them to come up with this idea, and if its like most our state parks, it must be lousy with deer.
I thought it would be neat to try and get everybody together for these dates of Nov 20-23, and Dec 8-11, since we usually never see each other between our last shoot in August through our first shoot in mid January.
Years ago we got involved in a first ever Archery quota hunt at a park and saw LOTS of deer,The prospects of this first such hunt should be high as well. The added bonus for this is cheap rooms and food as well.
I'm currently trying to get more info on this hunt, and will post it as I get it, Ya'll feel free to do the same.
Not only do I think it would be a fun hunt, but it could help our struggling state parks as well as give KDFW a thumbs up as well.
Just consider it folks.

Of course you yanks from across the crick will have to buy a non-resident lic., have not checked on that. Me and the PETA bowhunters (Thats bowhunters that seldom hurt animals...Danny Whitehouse,Eddie Alexander,Larry Dalzell,Norman Addington) will be on a quota bowhunt elsewhere during the Dec dates, so we will be hitting it in Nov. I think Nov will be the best hunt, as these animals have not been hunted up to this point, and are plentiful. I understand there will be a gun hunt in Jan, so this first hunt should be the best ever in that area..., dumb, uneducated Park deer..., easier pickins' for a PETA bowhunter, and even a Ledbetter.
WHOOOOA SHOOT THIS THING ! ONE OF US HAS GOT TA HAVE SOME RELIEF !

Just got a response from the park, 3,000 acres open to the hunt, 72 hunters max per hunt. of course there are allways no shows, so i figure 50-60 hunters. it sounds like a lot, and i'm sure you will see hunters, but this will also keep the deer moving. I'm one that prefers to have the woods to myself, but there should be plenty of action with plenty of deer movement. Plus everyone gets visit in the evenings over dinner. Anybody other than Ledbetter intrested?

I guess it would be a good idea to post a map to the place

About 4 hours drive from my shack
