Anyone who gets "Kentucky Afield" magazine may have seen the ad in this falls issue about the Greenbo Lake State Park Hunt. It basically is a joint venture between KDFW and the Ky Parks to stimulate use of the park during the normally slow times of Nov-Dec. In a nutshell, its a package of 3 days hunting,3 nights lodging,3 breakfasts, and 3 dinners for $185 + tax per person (Double occupancy)
Now I don't know how good the hunting could be, but for $61 per day, room and board, it sounds cheap !
I have never visited Greenbo Park, but for them to come up with this idea, and if its like most our state parks, it must be lousy with deer.
I thought it would be neat to try and get everybody together for these dates of Nov 20-23, and Dec 8-11, since we usually never see each other between our last shoot in August through our first shoot in mid January.
Years ago we got involved in a first ever Archery quota hunt at a park and saw LOTS of deer,The prospects of this first such hunt should be high as well. The added bonus for this is cheap rooms and food as well.
I'm currently trying to get more info on this hunt, and will post it as I get it, Ya'll feel free to do the same.
Not only do I think it would be a fun hunt, but it could help our struggling state parks as well as give KDFW a thumbs up as well.
Just consider it folks.
