And I noticed he had a cheap knockoff of a bug wig on his head too. I guess imitation is the best form of flattery. You may hear from my patent attorney.
Ah... looks like I'll have to break down and get the thermacell... just curious.... do you only use their little butane things or do you buy some other brand?
Hey Jon. The Thermacell is the real deal, but with some limatations. The wind can cut it's effectiveness but if the wind is strong enough, no skeeters anyway. It works best when it's real still out and you are too.
I always buy the big refill packs for about $20.00. After a while you will have more pads than butane. If you can find the Conair butanes in the womens section of the store it's a good thing to get. They are real hard to find though.
I like the clipons because there's no flame involved. Last year hunting when it was so dry, I would have been afraid to use the thermacell.
Oh yea. I noticed that they now carry therma refills that come in earth scent. They've always said that the things have no scent. If that's so then why come out with a earth scent What are they trying to mask if there's no smell

I buy the conair refills for women's travel hair curlers. Same thing. If you buy the refills from thermacell, you always end up with more "wafers" than you have butane. Being somewhat shifty, I've tried to refill them with cigarette lighter tanks, but there is a valve in them that prevents that. A full season's squirrel hunting costs me about $30, but it really works, is is well worth it. The off clip on has a little fan in it that makes a whine noise.
Maybe Dennis can make a device to refill the tanks?
