Dale Dye bows

I have a couple of Dale Dye older model takedown bows.  I have two handles and three sets of limbs - 61, 57 and 52 lbs.  I now live in the West and am getting older so I don't use them anymore.  They are in excellent condition, no scratches.  I would like to have someone use them rather than have them collect dust in my closet.  Dan Reeves suggested that I try posting here to see if anyone can help me with my request.  Can anyone tell me where I should advertise them and give me some idea of what they are worth?  Any help would be appreciated.

I've always thought Dale's bows were works of art... always wanted one, but could never afford one...

They have a very loyal following... some guys don't care for them as many are not fast flight compatible...

I'm pretty sure Dale's still kicking John...

Pricing... who knows anymore... I've seen bows go nothing that should bring good money... and others that I wouldn't have bring the goods...

Good luck on your sale... I'd like to see some pics if you have any available and can put them on the site... also how long is the bow as well, please?

As John mentioned... tradgang is great... some have had good experiences on the leatherwall as well... have to come up with a price before listing them on either of them... might also do some research to see what some of the Dye's have been bringing in the past on those sites...

Asking for a good price too!

God bless,

Just checked out TradGang. Have to have 100 posts before you can list anything for sale. Guess that site is not going to be an alternative.

I have gone to the Leatherwall many times but that seems like a tough crowd.

Yow, that bow on tradgang is more than I can do!

I had no idea there was a post count tied to selling items there.

Yeah,

They had an influx of "undesirables" that were taking people so they put a "number" of posts then you can contact them to list a bow... I've been pretty lucky and not been taken on any of the sites...

Unfortunately, con men are becoming more common. I guess you could blame the economy, but I think it is more to do with integrity. I just won't send money to some guy I don't know.

A couple of years ago we had some Brittany pups for sale. We listed them in the local paper. You can't believe the shysters we got calls from. One of them was the old scam of "I'll send you a check for more than you're asking. Send me a check in return for the difference." Of course their check would bounce. Fortunately we had enough sense to see through that scam.

You guys don't know me so I'll tell you a little about myself. I live in Nevada now. I used to live in WV and Ohio. I do some writing for Bowhunter and Bow & Arrow Hunting magazines. My wife and I have done a little TV. Her 2010 archery bull elk hunt will be on the American Archer on the Outdoor Channel the week of Feb 7, 2011. I had a couple of hunts on that show this year, maybe you saw them. One was for coues deer, the other Canada moose.

We both drew desert bighorn sheep tags this year. We took real nice rams with a rifle. We just couldn't get it done with a bow. If you would like to see them shoot me an email and I'll send a picture to you. I'm really proud of my wife she's quite a trooper.

Now that I know about this site, I'll try to visit regularly.

Good, and I'm sure you understand the hesitant nature.

Welcome, and if you get back this way make sure to look up the club.
