Deer Ticks

Ode to the Redbug

Oh Evil Bug

I itch and scratch

Where did I get

This latest batch

They usually attack

Below the waist

And to scratch them in public

Is in very poor taste

Elixers and ointments

They give no relief

Not even Clorox

Can end the grief

They wait in ambush

Like a retail hawk

In the woods where

The Brave Squirrel Man stalks

Blisters and scars

That will always remain

If youre lucky it wont

Go to your brain

If only my friends

Had sounded the alarm

Stay away from Old Man Cowels Farm.

Talk about fate and how it works. I had an invite on that hunt if I could get my work caught up. I had it all planned out, work a couple hours overtime to clear out my schedule and go huting on Wednesday. My supplier messed up my order and I had to work Wednesday no matter what. Lucky me.

Nothing as bad as them chiggers. I got a bad case of them a few years back after a hog hunt in GA. I do the permethrin wash/wear gaiters around my boots, etc etc. I sure don't want to have any part of them no more disbelief

God bless,

José
