There has been a lot of lot of strange things happening lately. Unexplainable things. Volcanos, storms, earthquakes, tsunamies, Tim winning state champ Well it finally hit close to home.
All together about 200ft of bank slid.The big oaks that were on top either fell or dropped about 20 ft. and slid about 20. The flat part on the bottom buckeled and cracked. Two big oaks near the bank toppeled over and now the creek is blocked. You can see that in the one picture. Part of that stone wall went also. Iwas told that it was built by German P.O.W.s I figured it has stood since the early 40's but I was wrong. One of the fellows that grew up over there said it was built in 1919, and that it was WW1 Germans. There are some new springs that have opened up on the bottom so I hope all the ground water now has a place to get out. I always wanted a place with a view
What was it ? Heavy rains or flooding ? Did you lose the whole cabin ?

Somehow a layer of water got in. the place that it sheared is as smoth as a plaster wall. A couple years ago we had two 5" rains a couple days apart. The bank downstream about 200 yds away colapsed then. That's when we noticed some cracks. Those rains in may are what really got things moving. It's funny, it's a slow motion landslide. The camp is setting right on the edge.

John funny you should mention that. I had a nice little flat spot right near that German wall that I was gonna let you park one of them FEMA trailers in when you sell your house. Oh well maybe Jim has a place for you
