Got 'er done. I tried something different on the grip. Didn't want to cover up the pretty wood with leather. Still need to shoot it some to find the nocking point but shot 4 arrows thru it this morning (COLD !). 4 arrows and 2 broke nocks. It'll do.

I've got checkering tools but am no good at it. Stippling is so easy, even a caveman can do it.LOL. I guess it could be called stippling but all gun work involving stippling, you use a piece of steel in which you have cut sharp teeth in the end of it and actually tap it down into the wood with a hammer. I've used it for backgrounds on some guns I have carved.

It's a "heavy " 50 #. It should lose the last 3-4 lbs after shooting it a while.

They're all good John. Store bought and home brew. I shot the Martin in the backyard some today. That thing rocks !
