ITBA Web Site Poll

http://www.itba.org/

Please give me your opinion by selecting on the poll, I'd like to get a feel on whether or not to update the site to something more modern (no offense to those who started it).

I feel split, it is very simplistic and in some ways that's great. I hate waiting for a site to load. But then again I have some tools at my disposal that kinda have been getting in my crawl - ya know what I mean.

If you want to give feedback, please do it on this thread

The first "I Don't Care" vote was me testing

And let me add some of my thoughts:

Yea, it'll be a bit of work for me and it will take some time, the site will likely act goofy while I'm making the changes.

I'm sure most would agree, it's nice that the current site loads real fast, I would certainly plan to keep it that way, but bigger and fancier will have an effect.

I've been messing around with new formats and I find it somewhat fun, maybe someday I'll be a real webmaster (I doubt itbiggrin).

Some potential added features:

A) I can build a message board into the site, what we have works pretty darn good (Thanks to Flintim), I'm unsure if we should take this step, it might be nice to have everything in one place from an admin point of view. I would think we could link to the "old" message board for archive purposes.

B) We could even maintain some club records, members list and contact info would be nice although it would need to be password protected for both access and modification.

C) How about a picture gallery where members could log on and post their pictures.

This might be something the clubs needs to discuss in a meeting, just matters how far we want to take it. If that's the case, please let me know so I can be available.

And Finally:

I don't get paid for it, nor do I do it for a living - far as that goes the officers and the guys setting targets at each shoot don't get paid either. I like to think that as with those guys, my part helps the club also.
A more modern site might be good, but then again trad archery isn't exactly hung up on "modern", maybe our site should continue to be "traditional".

Sorry for the long rant - give it some thought and let me know.

Dan

maybe a "How to" section with short MPEGs? I'm surprised at some of the things that some folks have not learned (like how to hand straighten a wood arrow) and we could use a section to share knowlege

Agree with the others. It looks real good Dan! Simple and every thing is in one page and easy to find. No need to scroll down to China to find stuff. It is simple enough that it should not be a problem to download for people still on dial-up.

Thanks for your effort.

God bless,

José
