Camp out

With the last shoot and picknic coming up saturday the 19, are we allowed to camp overnight friday night at the club?
It would be a nice trial run before hunting season and also allow for ppl to be there earlier.

I don't think so Hawk. I'll ask at the officers meeting tomorrow night and let you know.

Steaks and no lies! That sounds tempting.

I may dig out my tent and spend friday night there. It beats getting up early saturday morning to drive up there. Can't promise I will stay saturday night. My old lady is pretty strict about Sunday morning church. Will see.

Stay healthy.

God bless,

Jose

This sounds like the begining of a tradition. If this first annual end of year picnic goes over good and we have it again next year I propose we get as many as possible to camp up at Hardy. That would be fun. Especially if Randy supplies the steaksbiggrin

OH BOY! I'll wager that your not camping in a TeePee eitherno

I'd like to camp next year. Find a good area in there and write down the numbers of the campsites, and maybe we can reserve them next time. Get some lakeside camps and I will bring my carbon composit catfish polebiggrin

Well, my bride had plans for tonight. I guess I will see you guys tomorrow, God willing.

I will not get there until 0900 or so. You guys will probably shoot your first round before that. Wait for me for the second round.

Dennis you may not believe it... but I am bringing that bear target I told you about several years ago. I finally remembered, got it out of that old shack at the farm and it is in my truck now. It is in good shape.

God bless,

Jose

Ooops. Forgot something.

Randy, because you are the carbon expert, this is for you: are black hawk vapor shafts any good? There is a good deal on ebay: 1 doz for $30 for the 2000 size shafts. Thanks.

God bless,

Jose

I plan to bring a squirrel pie, and Jim Cowles has a bunch of rattlesnake meat.

Jose, thats the shafts i'm shooting now, they shoot good out of my 45# widow, and are supposed to be for lighter weight bows, but I went with a 145 gr point to weaken it for perfect bareshaft flight. Most carbons seem to be stiffer than what they claim. Thats a fair price, seems like Sipsey River was selling them new for $39 a dozen, he sold out to "Big Jim's" and his prices have stayed the same so far. You can al;so get Gold Tip 35/55 from him at the same price, they are somewhat stiffer and require 225 grains up front for my 54# Predator recurve.

Randy, I bought a dozen. Do you have a way to cut them?

I figure that if I don't like them I can always sell them to you. smile.gif

Thanks for the advice.

God bless,

Jose

I have cut them with a dremel tool, but usually get an archery shop to.
