Question for Kentuckians

Hey, I'm smelling around for a better place to live when I retire in 4 years.

It seems Ky has a lot of public hunting ground. I just wondered how well you think it's being managed? Game scarce?

Indiana has very little public hunting, and that is undermanaged and overcrowded.

This is Dennis. Well I ain't no Briarhopper but I may be able to help you out. I was thinking that you could do quite nicely on an Ohio River shanty boat. That way you would be in this area. There's good hunting everywhere around here. No grass to mow, and when winters commin on, just pull anchor and drift south. We would come visit on Sat. nights and drink your beer and catfish all night long. There's not many shanty boats left but I bet it was a glorius life style. At least you could maintain your Hoosier citizenship, as long as you were tied up to the north shore. Glad I could help. DEN

I'm just lazy enough to make a good shanty boater. Have to use all wood arrows, though. So they'd float.

I suspect you could live on the moon and retain Hoosier citizenship, as long as you're willing to pay State taxes,,,,

No KY kid here but I married a half breed one once. Her people were from Eastern KY (Clay Co) and back in the day, deer were near extinct there but have made a good comeback.I think KY does a very good job at management, at least that's my feeling, but maybe being from IN jades me some.

John I thought that area we went thru to TN was very nice.Down around Somerset. Plenty of fishing for sure, and the terrain looked very "gamey". Dennis and I want to keep you within 4 hrs or so we can visit regular.
