JD, If you need a little bit then you can file the nock groove a little deeper on the side that's out on the top limb and the same for the bottom. How much are you looking to move? With some character osage I've built, I just make sure the string bisects the handle area and file the nock grooves accordingly. Tracy
Tracy is correct. I've always read about how to do it but written instructions about something like that are sometimes hard to understand. I always string up the bow and visulize where to file. I wouldn't try to heat bend a bow that's already tillered. Sometimes a bow can change from shooting. The more you shoot it, the tamer it gets. I may be wrong about all this though. If I'm wrong Tim will let us know.
Tracy, to make sure I understand this correctly: when I hold the bow in shooting position, the string is towards the left side/arrow rest of the bow; to correct it I should deepened the left side of the top and bottom nocks. Correct?
