SC hog hunt

Have you boys looked into Ray Hammond's hog hunts?

They are $450, but you are allowed 3 hogs. Spot and stalk, which we all prefer and about 12-14 hours for most of you guys (less than 10 hours from my house). 4 hunters, max, per hunt.

From the stories written on TG it looks like a good time/good hunt.

We may need to look into it for this fall/winter.

Stay healthy.

God bless,

Jose

I was looking at his hunts the other day! With the lodging setups, I think I could take my daughter to that one. She is all pumped up about hunting hog!

Jose,
Steve Redden indicated to me he may be interested, depending on the economy some I'm sure, but he may be available to go.

Jose' you missed a good shoot. I shot like crap, but we had a good time. Bows were traded. Tomahawks sold. Cameras switched owners. It's all good.....

John,

I knew I was going to miss something good, but I had to work. We got the yard pretty clean now. We have to wait for the city to come and take all this junk away.

Well, I got an answer from Ray re-hog hunt. Here is what he had to say:

"Jose, right now I am wide open after September 8th all the way through to Nov 15th..you pick the weekend, we'll do the hunt."

Guys take your pick. I think the later the better because it will be cooler. What do you guys think?

God bless,

Jose

Boys, I asked Ray about hunting after Nov. 15th. His answer: no hunting after that date until January.

Let me know what you think.

God bless,

Jose

Jose,
How much is the deposit, and how soon do we have to have it in when we settle on a date? I think this hunt is $495 per person, right?
Thanks,
Bryan

Boys,

Here is Ray's response to my last email inquiring about deposit, etc.:

If you want the weekend, you should consider sending it as soon as possible. I am already getting bookings for next Jan/Feb/Mar

My address is

409 Wild Hill Rd
Woodstock, GA 30188

My PayPal is rayhammond01@yahoo.com if you use PP please add 3.5% to it to cover the fees they charge.

Its 100 dollars per person. You can book with only 3 people. It would help to run a thread on POWWOW on TG and state you are booked, and would lke to find a fourth to fill it..it usually works pretty well. If I find someone I will let you know.

You don't pay for the fourth slot.

Thanks, Ray

You guys think about it: is either this fall before Nov 15th or early next year.

God bless,

Jose

PS Brian, if you are coming you will have to drive separately... smile.gif

Have you decided who will drive? I will need to ride with someone, unless you're going to rent a cattle truck for the whole crew--come to think of it, that might be the way to haul a guy who's flatulent in three languages.....or so the rumor goes. smile.gif

John,

I never heard it put it that way: flatulent in 3 languages... that is a good one!

We can get the cattle truck and send that "other person" in it with the cattle. As long as PETA does not find out we are OK. If they do we can be put in jail for animal cruelty! Poor cows don't stand a chance smile.gif

Finding a driver should not be a problem. It should be only 4 people going.

We need to decide on a date so we can make plans. Right now we have 5 people interested: you, Randy, Steve, Joe and me.

Dates anyone?

God bless,

Jose

Jose,

If the Steve you are talking about is me, please don't count me in for now. I had been talking about it with Bryan but I can't commit right now. I'm sure you won't have any problem filling the slot.

Steve

I forgot to mention Bryan also. That still leaves 5 guys interested.

We need dates.

Those of you that work full time should take first swing at dates. Let's hear it.

Jose

Jose,
I may back away from this trip, as I would like to take my daughter to Ray's to hunt boar. I think he only hunts 4 people at a time, so that would leave you 4 and I would need to come up with 2 more to make two trips. If you can't get enough to go, I may be a fill in for your trip, but my daughter is looking forward to a hog hunt this year if I can pull it off for her.
Thanks,
Bryan

Bryan, how old is your daughter? We can ask Ray about it, he may not mind taking a youngun as an extra person.

God bless,

Jose

She is 14 right now, Jose. I looked at Ray's hunt initially because he has seperate sleeping quarters in pairs, as well as seperate bathrooms, so it will offer the young lady some privacy. If you talk with Ray again, find out how many we can hunt at once. I'm thinking I read he allows a maximum of 4 hunters at a time.
Thanks,
Bryan

Bryan,

I emailed Ray, but I imagine it will be monday/tuesday before I get a response because he is probably at camp hunting now.

God bless,

Jose

Well, Ray responded already. Here is what he had to say:

"I can handle five if one doesn't mind sleeping on a very comfortable couch

We love having kids they hunt for half price to age 14

Let me know!"

Bryan, talk to your girl and see when she wants to go. Her school schedule is the most important thing. We adults can take the time off.

God bless,

Jose

Jose,
Let me check her school schedule, and I will get back to you. I don't mind her missing a little school, but if we can plan around a school break, so much the better.
Talk with you soon,
Bryan
