Fall Turkey Seasons

Got this today from the DNR

Fall Archery - Oct. 1 - Oct. 23
Fall Firearm - Oct. 19 - Oct. 23
(One bird of either sex per hunter each fall)

Fall turkey hunt areas will be determined after spring harvest data is
analyzed. Areas should be determined by mid-summer.

I really like the idea of being able to take a turkey while I'm bow hunting deer, but I'm not too thrilled with the gun season part. I'm looking forward to the area selections.

Some questions (not really expecting answers, just wondering): Will each fall weapon have a separate tag? Or will there just be a fall turkey tag? I'm sure there will be separate fall and spring tags, wouldn't ya think. If you bought a fall archery tag and did not kill a bird, will ya have to buy a fall firearm license if you wanted to gun hunt the final days. None of this tag stuff really matters to me with my lifetime license.

I'll never again get to say "Man - I could of killed a turkey this morning if they were in season" and I'll probably never get another chance at a turkey during deer bow season like I have had in the past. That how my luck goes.

Dan.I'd bet you have to have two tags. That's the IN DNR way you know-sell more tags.
