The Mongolian Wrestling Association and The Tibetan Mongolian Buddhist Cultural Center have extended an invitation to share a truly great wrestling experience as 64 Mongolian wrestlers visit BloomingtonIndiana. The Indiana State Wrestling Association ISWA is pleased that we have been extended an invitation to participate in the traditional Mongolian Nadaam. The Nadaam includes Archery and Wrestling competition and the ISWA encourages wrestlers to take advantage of this truly unique opportunity to experience the very roots of our sport.

Mongolian Wrestling Rules:No weight classes, Classes depend on skill level, Wrestling is held in an open field surrounded by spectators, a wrestle wins the match when he forces any part of opponents body other than his hands or feet to the ground, and Matches include traditional preparation and finish
Several of us attended the celebration when it was last held here a few years ago.It was an amazing experience. These wresters are truly skilled and the combination of a traditional field of competition, the crowds from around the country who surround the field of competition, and recognition that throughout the world and through time we share a common heritage in wrestling make for a truly memorable experience.
Help US Celebrate Our Common Heritage in Wrestling that Crosses All Cultures and All Time
There is no charge for the clinic or competition however there is a minimal $5 charge for parking.
The TibetanMongolianBuddhistCulturalCenter is located two miles south of the College Mall. When the

From Nashville on SR 46, turn left on Smith Road until you come to Snoddy Road.
Coming south on SR 37, take the SR 45/46 Bloomington exit left which becomes College Mall and Sare Roads.
Coming north on SR 37, take the Tapp Road exit right; the name changes to Country Club drive; that becomes Winslow Road, and finally becomes Rogers Road after 4 miles.
Seriously this time, I've cooresponded with the guy and he said the archery was very entertaining, It sounds like horseback archery on foot with those real short recurves, fast repetitive shooting as if in warfare.
BTW - The archers are having trouble getting their travel visas (wouldn't ya know it, they might have other motives like taking over the USA with archery equipment???)
I realize it sounds wierd, different folks / different strokes, some think we are goofy shooting bows with no wheels (that's probably the mildest of thoughts).
Ed - if you are listening, please realize that we are just a bunch of good natured guys who are just funning around, I can assure you that no hard feelings are meant. (I'm guilty as charged)
