That's what I've always used. Denatured alcohol, and one pack. My autum orange arrows last weekend were Rit tangerine. From personal experience, wear gloves. DEN
Jose' I've done the same as Dennis. Denatured and one pack. Used it on selfbows. If you use too much dry dye, it will flake, but you can steel wool that off.
I've dyed arrows the same way, one pack and denatured alcohol, and it works well. The yellow rit, maybe with a little orange thrown in, makes an arrow shaft look somewhat like osage. The yellow alone, sealed with gasket laquer, makes an attractive shaft color. I built some " John Deere" arrows for my brother, and did a green rit dye crown with the yellow shaft, and they turned out real nice. Bryan

About a quart, although you may try the concentration only using a pint. You can always add more alcohol. By the way, don't worry if there is stuff in the bottom of the jar, it don't all mix up. Just shake it up every so often. Bryan
