John, It's broken. I go Monday for MRI and Tuesday to see the Orthopedic guy to find out if they're gonna cut on me. I asked him if I could shoot left handed, and he poo-poohed that until after the MRI. If my shop was heated, I'd make a one-handed Atlatl to use at the club. I ordered some 48" Ramin dowels, and will show up at one of the shoots with a Spear...
If he OKs me for left hand use, I'll buy a cheapie lefty bow of around 30lbs.
John, you can always shoot with you're teeth like Tim Farmer does, only need one arm for that. We have a boy of about 12 at Ktba with a disability that shoots that way, and does very well. At least you know the anchor point is always consistant. Go light with bow weight though, it could be hard on teeth. Or, you could get a crossbow....
Jose' I had an elbow injury from my Military days that resulted in a big bone spur. Evidently, The tendons grew to the knob, and I knocked that off. It's really not painful, but it feels weird to push on the bow and have the muscle just ball up on my arm. I think the Dr. is going to take the broken knob out and re-attach the tendons where they're suppose to be. If he does, I'll be out of commision for a couple of months. Probably miss the Shiloh hunt. I should know more Tuesday. I bought a 35lb recurve to recover with, but it's right handed.
You'd better ask the ortho guy if it is OK to shoot left handed before you do it. I figured Shiloh was going to be out for you. It will not be the same without you. I wonder what will it take to reschedule for a later date. I reckon Kenny may not go if you are not going.
i to would be willing to postpone the hunt untill you can go john . if they will let us? if not lets get plans and make you a midevil cross bow. or better yet, i saw your hero tred barta hunt hogs with only a knife !!! i will film it all and maybe even help pay to have you mounted if the hog wins. well mostly i will say some prayers that you heal fast and are as good as befor by hunt time !

I wouldn't dream of you guys not going if I can't. We'll hunt together some other time. Don't count me out yet, however! I still plan to retire next year about this time, and after that, the hunt is on, Lord willing!
