Not much for me to tell.Got in the woods about 6:15, saw a buck off in the distance, but not near close enough. Only deer I saw all day. I stayed at my red oak trre till about 10am,not able to stand still any longer. I walked and sit the middle part of the day. Usually I jump up a couple deer but not even a sound of one in the distance. They simply were not moving. I finished the day in my "evening " stand. Heard deer crossing the creek (hooves on rocks) and hoped they would eventually wander past my stand but never did.I left after dark. Tomorrow I hit it again.
PS, not a complete lost day, saw a redtail hawk drill a fox squirrel. Very cool.

Are you guys hearing a lot of shots? My bud Kenny is hunting on the ground like I do, and he's seen dozens of deer--but he keeps getting busted smile.gif

Just the opposite here. Fewer shots heard than in the past and less deer. Maybe the wind has something to do with it. I think what's happening at the farm is relative to them closing the old Brush Creek property to only those with permits. I think fewer guys are hunting there and they are not pushing them out to our place as in years past. Last year was the same way.
I had 6 does coming my way this morning and thought I would get a shot but a young buck with his mind on love broke them up and scattered them all over. Nothing !
I don't think there are fewer deer in the "area" but a lot of them aren't getting pressured to move far. I heard maybe 6 shots from the old Brush Creek area yesterday and none this morning.
