my first try at cresting. 10 of 12 are the same . lol... will it matter how i line the nocks up with the grain in the wood ???

Are those the ash arrows?
There is a preferable way to align the nocks but I'd have to show you.

Like John said the grain orientation on the top of the arrow should be >>>>point of arrow. The reason is that if the arrow were to break it breaks up and away from your hand. As he said the parallel grain ==== should go against the bow.

Those sure are pretty arrows. Enjoy. They may be safe with Dennis shooting at them, but John can do some damage. That man can shoot!
