I met with Steve H. and Dave McK. last week to start planning our banquet. We were going to try and do it earlier this year but have ran into a snag with the Knights-of-Columbus hall. So as last year we are going to push it into the first part of December (not to close to Christmas).
Before I ask my questions I want to point out that we feel we need to support the local area and there are only two places in Scottsburg to do this. Either one will only provide a buffet style dinner. That being said, I for one thought the food was very good. We will also have the big hall this time.
Also, the cost for this dinner is $13.50 per plate. We must tell them ahead of time, how many and we then pay that amount. Last year we had several people that said they would be there and didn't so we ended up spending much more that we should have. We are going to charge a little bit this year and sell early ticket buts that's currently being worked out..
Now the questions; Is there something different you would like us to do?
What changes to you want in the menu? We have a few other choices for meat or vegetables but I don't have that list. Just tell us what you like.
Does anyone have a speaker they would like to suggest?
Several people stated they would have given us door prizes. We will take any donations.
. I have a digitial projector that fits to my laptop, I would like to get pictues of club members and activities to show.
Any other suggestions, this is our club and we would like this to be fun. Please don't be shy tell us what you think. Thanks
The food was excellent last year, and the whole affair very enjoyable, but we were a bit crowded. It may be that Jose' and I will be in Texas deer hunting if it's the first part of December, but I will be there in spirit.
This is Dennis. The food was alright last time and if we have to pay a little to help out the club that's fine with me.
Having a bigger room is much better.
I thought Andy was very informative last year and I really enjoyed his talk. I don't know who you'll get for the price. Mabey someone that knows him well could ask Gene Hopkins. He knows a great deal about archery. If nothing else I'm sure Tim could talk for at least a few hours
John, I really hope you make it, as last year I didn't have my camera when you had your suit on. DEN
In my opinon the speaker should be someone that hunts with traditional equipment. I think ale Karch? the guy that owns 3 rivers archery would be a good speaker. Probably do it for a free meal and gas money, since he'd be coming down from ashley,Indiana
