I've been seeing a few. Me and Teagarden went up to a big dairy farm north of Salem this morning to look at Hedge. There were a lot of walnuts around but no cuttins. We were on mill creek and it was a bueatiful limestone creek, but I never saw a squirrel. When we drove back through the fields we did scare up about 50 geese in a cut hay field.
I may go over on the creek in the morning if I get up before daylight and see what's up.
Tomorrow morning we're going up to Clifty Falls for a family reunion, and I know a buckeye that their always in and some big tulip trees that their always cutting. I'll check and see. DEN
Ps. John I can't belive you would miss work to go squirrel huntin
This is Dennis. Well I went over ta the creek real early this morning. It was a perfect morning for squirrel, real still and quiet. I didn't stay long but nothing was moving. I'm pretty sure some were in the neighbors shagbark.
I checked the usual places up at Clifty and didn't see any cuttins at all.
This is Dennis. I went for about an hour also. Surronded by big oaks and didn't see a thing. At least I can say I didn't miss. Wound up shooting my new style squirrel arrows and was very pleased. I'll get a few more made up and be ready when they move in at the camp. DEN
This is Dennis. Me and Ronald went up to the Backcountry Sunday looking for bushies. We didn't find much cutting activity but we did see some squirrels. The ones I found were in wild grape and walnuts. We saw two more on the way out. At least this year there are a few around.
Jon see if you can get permission to hunt those ones on Plank rd.
Where's Mr. Nail? I hope we don't find him froze to a tree with a note that says " this is a good bow, and kilt the squirrel that kilt me" DEN
