I heard it always rains at Cloverdale!

How does a guy keep an unfinished selfbow dry in the rain anyway? I'm bringing one along for a little tiller fine tunin' from some more experienced folks than myself. I'll be there Saurday in the AM.

This is Dennis. Me, Ronald, and Billy, and anyone else who comes along will be there.

John I thought you vanished with the first drop of rain.

Chris, the humidity there will be enough that you won't have to worry about rain.

Well, It seems our paths crossed. Kenny and I got up there around 8:30AM. Didn't see anybody, so we shot by ourselves. We ran into Dale later, who said you guys were there. Talked a while with Loyd Cheek, and then got run off the practice course by the rain.

Seemed to me attendance was down, and there were definately fewer vendors. I hope it's not a trend.

Hope you all had a good time, and shot well.

This is Dennis. We went and had a good time.

We kept hearing rumors that John Nain was in attendence. Someone said that they saw him over in the big tent lusting over Black Widows. Another guy said he had gotten his ears pierced and was at the jewelry booth looking for trad earings. Someone said they saw him over in the campground doing a rain dance right before the big storm. We also heard he was in Africa with Gary Davis. Who knows? They also said Monty Browning was there, but we didn't see him either.

Ronald was on fire "not what your thinking". He only missed two, and drilled the bonus shot for a score of 196. When we got back to the food tent we sat down by a guy that asked how we shot. Ronald said he got lucky and shot a 196. The other guy said that's what he shot also. I figure Ron will be in the top 20 anyway.

Had fun and was only wet and freezing about half the time. DEN

Glad to hear about Ron's shooting--and glad I didn't have to shoot in the same class!

I had my head up and locked. Missed the bonus shot, and was a little too low on the Moose(The TV camera didn't help) and ended with a 170. I used the wood arrows and Lloyd Cheek's bow.

I will probably be an "also ran", but 85% is good for me.

See you guys at the next shoot.

Yeah, some guys filmed some of us shooting for CNN. I guess it will be sent to the troops. They were set up at the long Moose shot on the first side.

Got there Friday afternoon with the family.  Fewer vendors for sure.  Shot aerial targets all evening.  My daughter smoked one of them with a big crowd watching, very proud!  Shot the practice course a couple of times Sat.  Saw a few guys from ITBA and some other familiar faces.  Over all, we had a really good time.  Ate way too much and spent way too much money, but we made some great memories with the family.
