Shiloh Ranch

Well, the mighty hog hunters returneth!

Sans pork.

We saw a LOT of hogs. Very thick cover, and the place is a square mile.

We all had shot opportunities and a good time.

Terrible thunderstorm Monday night.

You crap in a bucket and cover it with sawdust. Shower is a 5 gal. bucket that you raise with a rope. Beds were good

Jose' and I did a lot of stalking and Dennis did the stand thing and stalked some.

These were trapped wild hogs and not farm raised, and they were difficult to approach, and even more difficult to find after shot.

Lots of small hogs from piggy size up to a hundred pounds, and we all saw some bruisers around 180-200.

Dennis had a big one increase his "Pucker factor" on his way in Tuesday. He said it rumbled at him like an Elephant.

I would go back, and I believe the other guys will say the same.

If we get 5 or more, we could have the place to ourselves, and it would make a great "Club" hunt.

I've been wishing all week I had gone with you guys. I'm getting too damn old to miss out on this type of thing. I'll take the time off without pay, but I'm in on the next trip.

I started making a new bow this past week.58" osage with sinew back. I tillered it out to 45 # @ 28" and then added the sinew to give 'er some punch. Already decided on the name -"Grand Slam" Idea is to hunt it till I harvest a deer, turkey and hog. So's I gots to go  wit ya'. Good to see you had a good time. Even not getting one, but seeing pigs would be worth the effort.

The accomadations sound first rate to me. I've $h** in a bucket a time or two. No big thang.
