I've been wanting a short Bear recurve for a while now. I went to an estate auction today and ended up taking 2 of them home for a really good price. The bows seem to be in excellent condition except for the spray paint camo. The old guy painted everything. The bows have zero twist, the tips look solid, and I don't see any cracks. I've shot them both. I shot the super 48 into some bullet proof glass. It cracked the first layer and flattened the tip on the field point. The second bow is a Bear but I'm not sure what model. They both have Bear quivers full of wood arrows with old broadheads. There is even a Bear arm guard and camo sleeves on one of them. Hopefully Mullet can give me some advice on how to remove the spray paint.
I started gently cleaning the mystery bow that's covered with paint. It's a super magnum 48 just like the other one only 5 lbs lighter. I'm going to work on both of them some more tomorrow.
