Hatchet

I've been thinking about doing this for a couple of years now. The recent cold snap gave me some time in the shop to finally get it done. The piece of wood was a bow stave from the giant osage tree I cut and split several years ago. I gave a piece of it to a friend of mine. It had a hole towards one end. My friend cut the hole off and made a shorter bow and had me deliver it to another friend of mine. He saved the piece with the knot hole and gave it back to me. It was the perfect length for a hatchet handle.

This is how it started out.

This is how it ended up.
