Cloverdale - anybody going?

I think the clan and I are going to head up for a day and back again this year. I hope to be able to go Friday but it may be Saturday. Any of you all going to be around?

I would like to go for a day but I doubt I'll be able to. I'm trying to finish up my camper project.

Cloverdale has become an annual event for us. It falls around my birthday every year so we go shoot as a family, have some ice cream at Jiffy Treat .... maybe a little BBQ. Pretty good day overall!
I'll keep an eye out for any ITBA friends while we're there.

That's part of my problem... I usually falls on my anniversary or really close... so...

We have gone a couple of years and gone on and done some other stuff which is what we're doing again this year... going on the cheap... have to with the other youngin' going off to college in the fall... Yeah!

We're officially going from the poor house (one in private college) to skid row (with them both in school) LOL

Same with me Jonathan. Liv is at Hanover and Drew starts this fall at Hocking College in Ohio, so I'm about to join you on skid row! I'm working this weekend so no go for Cloverdale, but I'll be at the Compton shoot next week.

Well David... you didn't miss much... I didn't shoot the main course as I'd not picked a bow up since before turkey season... and it's $30.00 to shoot now!? Vendors were way down from when I was last there... only two on Friday along the muzzleloader range (covered part) and one of them wasn't archery related... did shoot the practice range once and walked back through and picked up a few nick naks from a couple of the vendors...

Never did get to experience the hey day of Cloverdale... amazing how much smaller it is in the time I've been able to go...

I'd hoped to get to Compton again, but we're team teaching at church next weekend for Father's day... so I guess we'll have to wait till next year... Curious as to how the turnout will be up there or if all the shoots are declining...

The attendance was down at the Tennessee Classic this year. There was a lot of rain and storms predicted for that week. I think that scared people away. The weather turned out really nice.

That stinks! Cloverdale was always one of the go to shoots for Drew and I but I haven't been for a few years since going to the Compton shoot. Too hard to get away two weekends in a row and we always made the rendezvous into a mini vacation. Hate to hear the numbers are dwindling. I'll let you know how next week goes. The guys at the Berrien Springs Sportsman's Club use clicker counters at the main gate so they have a good head count at the Compton shoot. As of now, CTB has 52 vendors coming to set up.

Dave and I camped ,he was there Thursday. We shot the main course Saturday with Steve and his girl friend Peggy. Long shots as usual but still a good time shooting. Lotta fun with good friends.

Jonathan-Compton Rendezvous was well attended. I don't know the gate count yet, but the Berrien Springs Sportsmens Club runs the course and they said the number of paid shooters was a record high since they've hosted the shoot. There were a few no shows on the vendors, but we had a couple fill ins at the last minute and wound up with 52 vendors and by all accounts, their sales were up over last year's numbers. I actually managed to sneak out a shoot a couple of the courses. The targets were stretched out there!!! Some long shots but a fun shoot. Saw a handful of ITBA'ers.

Jonathan
