Oct.3rd I went down to dales, hunted my stand in the morn. didn't see anything. had lunch with dale, and he showed me pictures of deer coming to his stand and feeder. some nice bucks coming in the daylight. he told me I should sit his stand that evening, well after very little arm twisting, I agreed to sit there. if you haven't seen pics of dales stand, it's the taj mahal of stands, 10x12 with steps leading up about 16ft. very comfortable seat to relax on. about 6pm. 3 does come in and proceed to the feeder. biggest doe I've seen in awhile, two yearlings with her that were good size also. looking all around, never once looking up at me, wrapped up in my gihille suit, with my deelectro magnetizing outfit on. watched them feed for about 15 mins. decided that mama would fill my freezer . took a quarter shot, but my fingers played a nasty tune when I released and I skimmed her shoulder and hit her in the neck. took off and snapped my arrow on the first tree she passed, waited until just before dark to trail, found spotted bright blood in spots for about 50 to 60 yds. then lost it. talked to dale , we went back and I showed him everything, I told him I would be back in the morn. but on the way home I called the wife and explained what happened and that I was going back in the morn. but she explained to me that I was taking her to the emergency room when I get home, for her ulcer, and that's where she spent the next 24 days. so that took a lot of my hunting for oct. dale did check for her the next morn. but couldn't find anymore blood, or the doe. so that's one I wounded. next time I will tell you about the the biggest buck I ever shot and killed with my bow, but didn't retrieve in nov. AND IT DOES HURT TO TELL THIS !!!!!
