Got to put a little meat in the freezer today. A quartering away shot at 7-10 yards took out the liver and one lung. It ran up the hill and onto the road where it piled up. Probably went about 50 yards after the shot. I was using an osage selfbow I built last year and a hill cane arrow with a trade point made from a used band saw blade.
Thanks guys. I really enjoy the deer shoot the club has at the end of the season. I've made it out there the last two years and taken a deer with a selfbow a few weeks later both times. I think that shoot helps me get ready for the woods. Thanks for hosting a great traditional shoot.
Great job Clint! I'd have helped you drag that one out! Hopefully I'll put your handy work to soon! Seen a few just have to get one to step into range.
