Most have by now heard of the gun shop owner in Western Jennings County being murdered by his Fed Ex driver and two of his "buddies'. Scott Maxie was my daughters' cousin and just a great guy. He had retired not long ago from Cummins Engine and started a small shop to buy, sell and trade guns. The Fed Ex driver had been casing the place and showed up Sunday afternoon under the guise of buying a gun from Scott. At an off guard moment (since he knew the driver) the driver shot him once in the head with a .22 killing him. They took all his guns. Four have been recovered, the rest (about 43) are on the streets of Indy now.I cannot fathom the absolute callousness and evil that enters a person' head to do such a thing. There are now children who no longer have a father, brothers and sisters and cousins without Scott. Hell should have a special place for these bastards.

I knew Scott too, we worked together at Cummins. He was a great guy, this has been a real shock. His ex wife and I still work together. They were working on getting back together. She's the on that found him. These scumbags caused so much damage in so many ways!
Horrible story, go through Hayden a lot with my gal taking the "bottoms" from Dupont to Seymour as shortcut from her place. Had her family on edge hearing the news. Glad they caught 'em. My guess is the POS and his two pals won't do well in front of a Jen Co. jury.
They won't do well in the Jennings County jail ! Their pitiful lives are now in the hands of a public defender.
