Randy a five day non- res small game is $31.00. You will easily have that much fun and you can camp free.

I went early this morning to scout for my annual SQ report. The big storms came thru here at 4 or 5 am, I'm not sure exactly when cause my clocks were all flashing.

About 8:00 or so I looked out and it looked like the perfect time to go. No wind and the trees were full of water. We leashed up the dogs and headed over to the park down the road from my camp. John knows the place.

Right when we pulled in it started to drizzle. We got out and started walking cause I knew we would never really get wet under the trees.

I found quite a few pignuts that had been sampled but no place of concentrated cutting. No beach at all. I did find a oak limb that had blown down and it was loaded with tiny acorns.

About that time and 100 yards from the Jeep the skies opened up. You wouldn't believe how fast a Dachs can run on them short legs and the smell of wet dog don't bother me the smell of wet wife is wonderful. At least that's what I told her cause she wernt happy. evileye

Anyway since my scouting trip got cut short I called that wise old woodsman and sage, OMC. He said look in Shagbark and you will get meat.wink

Den,To find a Beach in Indiana you need to go to Indiana Dunes state park, a fer piece north. now, as far as the squirrel scouting, try checking the beech trees, you mentioned every other mast bearing tree but the beech before you got side tracked and started talking beaches....   confuse

Well I should have been more specific. Some might have thought I was referring to the Beech Nut terbacky that their grand ma chewed. blehbiggrin

Ron is gonna call Bob and find out when he wants to have it. Then he will call Dave and get the ball rolling.

I checked a shagbark yesterday and no cuttins at all. In my yard their hitting pears and half ripe tomatoes. furious

Revenge will be mine. Soon.
